Opening Notifications panel throws ActiveObjectsSQLException

    • 4.3 RC 1 installed via installer and using bundled JDK
      Win2K3 (32 bit) w/ MSSQL 2K5 (Express) DB

I'm testing 4.3 as an upgrade from 3.5.17 (well, from 2.10.3 actually but I need to go via 3.5.17).

The 3.5.17 to 4.3 upgrade & migration has finished, when opening the Notifications panel it throws a system error. I've enabled safe mode in UPM to rule out user plugins causing issues and it doesn't correct the problem. Oh, and ActiveObjects was never installed as a user plugin on this instance.

      Cause:

com.atlassian.activeobjects.internal.ActiveObjectsSqlException: There was a SQL exception thrown by the Active Objects library: Database: - name:Microsoft SQL Server - version:09.00.3042 - minor version:0 - major version:9 Driver: - name:jTDS Type 4 JDBC Driver for MS SQL Server and Sybase - version:1.2.2 java.sql.SQLException: Invalid object name 'AO_9412A1_AOREGISTRATION'.
      at com.atlassian.activeobjects.internal.EntityManagedActiveObjects.find(EntityManagedActiveObjects.java:153)

Log attached with full details (I cut out the individual AD user/group sync lines since I assumed that they will be irrelevant).

            Hi Liam,

Thanks for the bug report. This issue affects RC-1 only, and has been fixed since. Unfortunately later RCs have been for internal testing only, so there's no immediate fix, but the problem will be resolved in the final 4.3 release.

I'll close this for now, but feel free to reopen it if you continue to have problems with this in the future.

Actually, I think the impact of this is a bit more major than I original realised. I don't seem to be able to create any pages either. After clicking save in the editor I get 'Page not found' with whatever name I'd entered. Upon save, atlassian-confluence.log shows similar errors about invalid object names for AO objects:

2012-08-16 13:52:40,559 ERROR [http-8080-11] [mywork.host.rest.ExceptionLogger] toResponse Exception thrown from resource

Disabling the three Notification system plugins allows me to save pages.
