Making lists out of paragraph text differs from plain text to list context.

Paste paragraph text into a list and it all ends up in the same item. Use delete and arrow keys and enter to split the paragraphs into separate list items and they end up with extra whitespace that can't be destroyed. The white space is not present if the list is created from the same paragraph text at the top level outside of list context.
