Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
If an attached image within the same Confluence instance is specified as a user macro's icon, the icon place-holder would not load and causes the page editor to be unresponsive.
The only way to overcome this is by making the image publicly accessible. This has been verified and a knowledge base article has been created to address this: User Macro Place-Holder Fails to Load Due to Image Not Publicly Accessible.
If an attached image is used, it would not load probably because it requires user authentication (attached image is in the same Confluence instance). This could be because the TinyMCE plugin uses a new session to access the attached image to generate the icon itself.
It'd be nice if Confluence could use the current session for the logged in user to access the image and generate the icon for the user macro place-holder.
