Tabbed Indent Has Extra Line Break for Table of Contents and Lists in General

      When there is indented content in lists, an extra line break appears, please see picture.

      I noticed this with the Table of Contents Macro initially. Further, it appears to effect any kind of list.

      As a coder, I would guess this is a CSS error.

            Per 5.4.3.

            Does this issue include a simple TOC? (i.e. created by inserting the TOC macro and checking the box for numbering)? I did not do anything fancy .All my headers that apply to TOC are level 3.

            There are no tabbed indents to my knowledge.

            If my issue is the same as above, I would vote for it, unless there is a workaround someone could tell me.
            Thanks,
            Steve

            Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on bugs with a higher impact, and more votes.

            Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for some time now with very little movement.

            I'm going to close this to set expectations so the issue doesn't stay open for years with few updates. If demand for this picks up, we will reopen the issue.

            I still see this happening in v5.2.5, both in the toc macro and any indented list...

            I wonder if this has been fixed along the way. I noticed that at least in Chrome and IE9 my Confluence v5.0.2 instance doesn't seem to manifest the extra whitespace below the lowest level indents in my TOCs or lists. I attached screencapture TOCNoLongerSeemsToHaveExtraWhitespace-5.0.2.PNG demonstrating this.

            I just upgraded my company's Confluence install from 3.2 to 4.1.7, and this extra blank link in the TOC just jumped out at me as well, and it really jumps out when a page has a lot of leaf sections. I'm pretty sure it wasn't happening under 3.2 (unless my memory is just clouded). Was this fallout of the interaction of the html generated by the

            {toc} macro with the new Confluence content editor/renderer?

            It's not clear to me whether I should be voting for this issue or the linked issue about the {toc}

            macro that is in the plugins issue tracking system. Maybe I don't understand the delineation of responsibility, but I would have hoped that the

            {toc}

            macro is a core part of the Confluence stack at this point, and hence this issue would be the primary one to track driving this to closure, and, while it is just a formatting issue, it really does make the TOC not look as nice and that is one of the first things a reader's eye gets drawn to.

            I have also experienced the same issue with table of contents.

            Hi Tin,

            thanks for bringing it up. The problem happens because of the html that toc macro generates: https://studio.plugins.atlassian.com/browse/TOC-91
