    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

When browsing Confluence, larger images can slow the loading of pages and make Confluence feel sluggish. In order to combat this, users will edit images in a desktop application to reduce file size before imbedding the image in a Confluence page.

What we would like to see is the option to have Confluence do the compression for us as the image is uploaded. An analogous situation would be how a smart phone will reduce the resolution of a picture before being sent in a text message. Below are potential features we would like to see.

-The option to set a maximum KB size for images and automatically edit images to fit this requirement upon upload
-The option to have the compressed image displayed on the page but still have the original image available for download

The ultimate goal being to reduce the complexity of making sure images on pages do not slow the Confluence end user experience.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
