The table's border become invisible in the output of the "Export to word"

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      Summary

The table's border become invisible after export to a word file, this issue however does not affect Open Office, it only affects user with Microsoft Office. Thus, Open office can be used as a workaround. (Unfortunately, the generated files generally don't open correctly in editors other than MS Office, check this: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-26113).

There's a similar bug for PDF exports:
      https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-34390

      Steps to Reproduce

      Here is the reproduction procedure:

      1. Add a table with wide columns to a new page then save it. (original.png)
      2. Export the page to the a word file.
      3. On the word file

      Expected Results

The table fits the file correctly.

      Actual Results

The border of the table become invisible. (export+to+word.doc)

      Workaround

      Partial workaround

      1. Use workaround here to export a PDF file that shows that table correctly
      2. Export as PDF
      3. Use some PDF to Word converter, like this one

        1. Custom_css.zip
          2 kB
        2. export+to+word.doc
          3 kB
        3. original.png

Hi. I have started using Confluence in addition to Jira, because its been advertised the next best thing

Its "a little" disappointing when you find a little bug like this
But its "a lot" disappointing when the problem has been around for years

This is very annoying. Word doc's look very unprofessional. Is there a release date for this fix? Thanks.

We are using custom CSS for Word exports in Confluence 5.7. which solves the invisible border problem and makes word documents a appear a little nicer. Maybe it will help as a workaround for others as well...
I have attached custom_css.zip file which contains .css and .vm files needed for word export.
Files should be placed in ...\includes\css\custom_export.css and ...\pages\exportword.vm

Please fix. It's supposed to be a major issue; trying to reduce manual labor work by using Export to Word, but all tables do not have borders.
