Enable user to search content by author/editor

      Index the original page creator, and all editors of the page, and allow search by author/editor.

            Hi Aggelos.

            If the atlassian-user.xml configuration file is configured for non Hibernate user management then the feature is disabled.

            The Confluence 2.9.1 release should make this feature available to you.

            What is preventing this feature from working when Confluence is integrated with Crowd? I've tried to disable 'External User Management' but we still don't get this option.

            Nice suggestion Emily. Searching by group membership won't be addressed for this resolution but I've raised a separate improvement request here -

            For the search by author/editor, attachments should also be included. Also, it would be useful if there was a way to search by group membership. For example, content edited/created by any member of a group would be returned. This capability could be limited to administrators.

            It would appear Conf-7296 is related. I don't know why this capability has been hanging around for so long unresolved as it would have high utility.

            It was simple enough to create a report using a user-filter to display all the content edited by a user, but the performance is unacceptably slow, owing (possibly) to the lack of an index on the LASTMODIFIER column.

            However, using the SQL plugin to execute a query on the CONTENT table, there was very little delay, so there may be another table or tables that needs indexing.

            Good idea. That sort of searching fits best with our plan for smart lists (CONF-6453). I'll link it to this issue.

            Agree! We need pages that he had commented on also.
            Btw. author: and authorname: doesn't work for me. I think the best way is to create additional search fields in search screen, like "lacation" where user can select criteria for search.

            for Example:

            Author:
            [ ] All
            [ ] Author
            [ ] AuthorName

            Commented by:
            [ ] All
            [ ] Author
            [ ] AuthorName

            Would be great not to be able to get all items from one user not only pages / news but also pages that he had commented on.
