Can not display a pptx document using the macro

      I need to display a pptx document (status summary) on the confluence page, but when I put the macro,

      {viewfile:HP_Migration_Status_Update_9_28_2010.pptx}

      It gives the following error:

            On Confluence 5.5.2 we have the problem with:
            Application Server Apache Tomcat/7.0.47
            Servlet Version 3.0
            Java Version 1.7.0_15
            Java Vendor Oracle Corporation

            FYI, we resolved our problem by using Oracle Sun JRE rather OpenJDK IcedTea6 include in RHEL.

            java version "1.7.0_15"
            Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_15-b03)
            Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.7-b01, mixed mode)

            vs

            java version "1.6.0_22"
            OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.10.4) (rhel-1.41.1.10.4.el6-x86_64)
            OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.0-b11, mixed mode)

            We have this same issue with Confluence 5.2.5 (including the 2014-02-26 security patch) and the default Office Connector Plugin v3.1.1

            May we know if the Office Connector Plugin v3.1.3 resolves this or any way to fix it?

            I am getting the same issues with both ppt and pptx. Another note, when defining any other options in the plugin, slide#, display size in pixels, the 'broken image' icon appears. To get back to the infinite load screen, remove all options.
            This is on confluence 5.1.5 on CentOS 5.5 final with Sun Java 1.7.0_45 JDK

            We have the same problem with Confluence 5.2.5 (including the 2014-02-26 security patch). The pptx file will not display in the viewfile macro. If converted (using PowerPoint) to ppt and uploaded to Confluence, a viewfile macro displays the slides without problem. The document may have been generated with Office 2010 and then later edited in 2013 (MS Office Pro Plus 2013).

            Appears to have similar log output to the above case:

            caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.benryan.conversion.PPTSlideServlet.doGet(PPTSlideServlet.java:98)
