The Mail Page plugin gets disabled after a confluence restart.
      To reproduce:
      1. go to a 3.0.1 confluence administration page > Plugin Repository
      2. Make sure that Mail Page plugin is installed and ALL COMPONENTS enabled.
      3. run the shutdown.sh script to shutdown tomcat.
      4. run stratup.sh to restart tomcat and confluence
      5. repeat 1.
      6. repeating 2. you will find that the plugin and all its components are disabled.

I have tested this with both Mail page plugin versions of:
      v1.7
      v1.8

            Hi There

Thanks for raising this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog now for quite some time with no progress being made. Rather that leave this here I'm going to close this issue as won't fix, I believe this better reflects the status of this issue.

Maleko: I followed your directions and the problem has been solved in my Confluence instance. The Mail Page plugin remains enabled through restarts now. Thanks!

Yes, it worked. Thanks for the tip.

Reopening this since the problem can still manifest itself given the correct circumstances. If you happen to have the Mail Page 1.8 plugin installed and listed in the plugindata table in your Confluence 3.1 database, after a restart the plugin seems to reload itself and reverts back to the initial stock state of disabled.

The workaround is to go in Admin > Plugins, Mail Page plugin and uninstall it. Restart Confluence once more and you will need to enable the Mail Page plugin once more. After that, any other restarts should keep the Mail Page plugin in the same state that it was prior to the restart.

            Hi Sim,

            Thanks,

I am using 3.1 (not 3.1.1). The mail page plugin will get disabled every restart for my instance.

I'll test it out again on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, when I next bring down my Confluence instance.

I just tested and verified in Confluence 3.1 that if you

            • Enable the Mail Page Plugin
            • Shutdown Confluence
            • Start Confluence

The Mail Page Plugin is still enabled. Is this not the case for you David?

I just upgraded to Confluence 3.1.1, and the Mail Page Plugin is still disabled on startup. I believe Andrew Lynch's comment that the fix is targeted for Confluence 3.1.2 at the earliest.

            3.1.1 or 3.1?
