Date format mismatch between jiraissues macro and emailed Confluence page

when using Jiraissues macro in Confluence, the date format is picked up from Jira, though the format changes when the page is received in an email notification. The email refers to Confluence's date format when listing issues from this Confluence page.
In case of Jira custom date fields, formatting is completely lost in the email. The format is not referenced from either Jira or Confluence's date settings.

It would be preferable to have a consistent formatting in both locations for both system and custom Jira fields.
