[Update July 12, 2024 - This feature is generally available for Jira and Confluence products]

      JOB STORY

When I already have a sandbox instance created and I want to test changes incrementally

I want to be able to choose which of the data I bring over from my production environment

So that I do not have to do an entire reset of my sandbox to test the changes

Data may include but is not limited to:

      • Global and product configuration settings
      • Users and groups
      • Product content, including Jira issue data and/or Confluence page data

[CLOUD-11155] Ability to do a partial copy of Jira

This feature is now generally available for Jira and Confluence products

To be able to not take issues/tickets when copying to sandbox.  Since some of our projects are for on-boarding/off-boarding it is a risk/compliance concern to take over any employee/customer information.

I routinely need to copy new issues and projects over, but not overwrite app data and workflows that may be in test.  In other scenarios I would like to overwrite app data to then build on that.

I can see many ways and reasons of what should be copied each time.  It could be different every time.

Hi All, I am the Product Manager for Sandbox.
We will have beta release of partial copy of Jira data by CY Q4FY24

Any update with this one? In all use-cases we typically want to copy only global fields and schemes and then a few projects with their settings. We never need to copy issues over. Being able to exclude issues and select a single project along with global fields would probably be a faster process too (our Jira instances are huge).

This is important as we would not want to import all projects into sandbox.

Would this feature work also from PROD to a site that is NOT in the same "Organization"?

When creating a sandbox it would be nice to have a selection of projects to copy and afterwards have the option to copy additional projects.

The option to copy over content without copying any users or groups would be fantastic.
