Description
Summary
When importing code form an existing project using the web interface, the import does not complete and it times out after 60 minutes.
Environment
This problem has been observed in the following conditions, however it may be experienced when using a different source repository and operating system:
- Operating System: Windows Server 2012 R2
- Source repository: Bonobo
- When running the git config --list --show-origin command, the credential.helper=manager property is returned
Steps to Reproduce
- Select the Git option and provide the required connection information and credentials
- Start the importer
Expected Results
The new repository is created and the source code is available.
Actual Results
The below exception is thrown in the atlassian-bitbucket.log file:
ERROR [pool-9-thread-1] <username> @AZS1P7x875x2581x0 y9g4a7 100.100.341.306 "POST /rest/importer/latest/projects/<project_name>/import/repos HTTP/1.1" c.a.b.i.i.repository.RefSyncTask Failed to import repository: <project_name>/<repository_slug>[12] com.atlassian.bitbucket.ServerException: An error occurred while executing an external process: process timed out at com.atlassian.bitbucket.scm.git.command.GitCommandExitHandler.evaluateThrowable(GitCommandExitHandler.java:113) ~[na:na]
Workaround
- Import the repository by using the instructions provided in the "Import code using the terminal" on the Importing code from an existing project page.
- Remove the git credential.helper=manager property from the server hosting Bitbucket Server
