Atlassian status as of Aug 2020

In June 2020, we posted an Atlassian Community article about making it easier for users to define their preferred default branch name for new repositories. Starting from Bitbucket Server and Data Center 7.5 we've introduced two ways to do this:

      1. Admins can set a system-wide custom default branch name for all new repositories.
      2. Users can set the default branch when creating a repository.

See Setting a system-wide default branch name for more. Bitbucket already had the ability to change the default branch for any existing repository from its settings.

The word 'master' can mean several things, yes, but one of those things is a reminder of the system of oppression against Bla(c)k people, and that's enough.
