Bitbucket sends email notifications to unlicensed users for pushed commits in a repository

    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

      Issue Summary

An unlicensed user will continue to receive email notifications for pushed commits for repositories that the user was watching and receiving notifications when active.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. User1 enables email repository email notifications to be sent immediately
      2. User1 watches pushes for all branches in a repository
      3. Admin deactivates User1 by removing the group/s that provide access
      4. User2 pushes some commits to the repository

      Expected Results

No email notifications are sent to User1.

      Actual Results

Email notifications are still sent User1, despite being deactivated.

      Notes

This only affects notifications for pushes and not pull requests. Note, that the issue could only be reproduced if the user had received one at least one notification for the affected repository when being active.

      Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
