      Problem Definition

      Auto-merge will not automatically merge between a branch pair that has an open pull request i.e., auto-merge expects to be the only thing that is merging between release branches.
      OR
      Due to merge conflicts from previous pull requests and auto-merge attempt.

      After which all new Pull request will not attempt to auto-merge.

      Users and admins need to know when auto-merge fails and why so it can be addressed quickly.

      Suggested Solution

      1. Provide better logging to identify the problem.
      2. Provide a notification in the UI

      Workaround

      Review all branches related to the cascading merge and resolve any open pull requests or merge conflicts.
