ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host (BB-10785)

I have a cron job that pulls from a bitbucket repository once an hour. Every so often, the cron job emails me

ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

This started a few weeks ago with this happening perhaps once every few days. Now it's getting worse, happening almost every hour.

To check, I set up the same cron job on a completely separate host, and it's showing the same behavior. So I suspect the problem is on the server's end.

Any news on that? Experiencing troubles with Jenkins having this exactly issue.

            Same problem still there.

We perform API calls and often get the same error. We need to implement an auto retry system in our code just to leverage Bitbucket SSL errors...
(we have no problems on the same platform with other apis from other companies)

Not a Comcast too. Even Bitbucket website work not all the time for me.

No comcast in my case, I have the issue from lots of different machines using different connections. The only common denominator I can find (so far) is that all hosts with issues are ipv6 enabled.

This might be a coincidence, but does anyone else have Comcast as their ISP? I have noticed that I only experience the issue at the office, which has Comcast Business Fiber. At home with Verizon Fios, I never have any issues unless I'm connected to the office VPN. I have a coworker who teleworks from Florida, and has never had an issue on his home internet, but he came to the office recently and this was happening to him constantly. I'm beginning to think that it's not an issue with the computers or Atlassian, as when the issue occurs I'm able to switch over to a portable hotspot (e.g. off the office network), and everything works fine (albeit much slower).

Last few days I'm getting this error.

ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Probably related with Bitbucket IP address change. What can we do to fix this?

Update: maybe this helps - output of ssh -v git@bitbucket.org cmd: https://pastebin.com/BJ7GwgF6

Since the migration yesterday I've been getting this a lot as well (on ipv6 enabled servers)
