pipeline fails with not have deep enough clone

The commit could not be found in the cloned repository. This can be caused by using force push, or not having a deep enough clone.

This is intermittent as it fails randomly. Also after a fail If I click rerun it succeeds. The pipeline in question has clone depth full.
