Currently, one can click the + New File button to create a new text file, but what if one wants to upload an image to the repo (the actual git repo, not the wiki!)?

We are writing a text collaboratively using rst and Sphinx, but some of the co-authors do not have a git client installed and would like to upload images.

It would also be good to have this option for uploading a source code file (that either doesn't exist in the repo, or replaces the existing version)

[BCLOUD-12656] upload images, binary files or text files to the repo

I was astonished this very basic functionality hasn't been added to Bitbucket. We do not use Git very often, but we do use Bitbucket on conjunction with LaTeX tools and other platforms. The amount of hoops I have to jump simply to upload a logo or a new font file to change our .cls is ridiculous.

            Please consider this functionality!

Would also love to see this feature enabled (sooner rather than later). It's a great way to let users who might not otherwise be savvy enough (or involved enough) to go install git and sourcetree still contribute to projects

A basic feature like this should just be available. I want to upload some 'terms-and-conditions' .pdf files, a favicon and a logo, but I can't. That's why we have the web interface, right?

This request is here since 2016? Anyone working at Atlassian or what?

Not only is the ability to upload (i.e., ... / Add) a binary and/or non-text file to a repo from the GUI web browser interface critical, but the ability to upload a bunch of files is also just as important and just as critical.

When working with (La)TeX, for example, you often have a folder of font files that goes with your document. It is very desirable to copy/paste that entire font folder en masse into the repo; something you often do when creating a new document.

Yes, we like stand-alone self-contained document repositories with all their necessary fonts imbedded.

No, we do not like common stuff extracted into a central and or cloud-managed place, regardless how numerous or how big they may be.

Therefore, the Bitbucket community humbly requests an ... / Add Multiple Non-text feature to the web UI.

            Great frustration.

My use case is a distributed publishing project where the writers are (and will always be) fully non-technical copy writers that work with MSWord. Will not git.
My duty is to merge their work into an existing web site

I'm trying to implement a collaborative process based on a BB repo, in order to leverage all the wonderful benefits of repos.

This issue will force me to handle a number of files, assuming responsibilities that don't belong to my role.

            Please!

            Hi, any update on this?

Shocking that this is not supported, it is incredibly basic as a feature.

Are you guys working on this? Since 2017 this has been requested by users, adding and changing images is really a pain to do it with commands. Github web is able to do it, not sure why this has taken so long to add this feature.

I did find a solution! Use Atlassian's app, Sourcetree, to add files to your repo. Login to your account, clone the repo to a directory on your computer, make the necessary changes to that directory (like adding a static image file or even editing your code with an IDE of your choice) and then push the changes with Sourcetree.

I really wish Bitbucket would advertise Sourcetree since it's specifically made for it. This is the only solution I've been able to find since Bitbucket doesn't seem to allow other software to push to their repos. Hope this helps!
