URL validation is too strict when using Build Status API

When passing the URL parameter to the build status api request, I would get a 400 BAD REQUEST error due to an "invalid" url. Our build server has a short name and we do not normally connect to it using a FQDN or IP address since it's easy to identify and remember. It would be nice if we could use a URL like:

https://example/path/to/build/info\\
instead of
https://example.com/path/to/build/info
