Bamboo fails to perform wild card matches, when searching viewUsers page if the text is wrapped around a '*' wildcard character

When searching for users on viewUsers page, if I enter an wild pattern such as Chris*johns (firstname*lastname) Bamboo will throw an freemarker exception.
