Problem Description

Recently, there was a new Automation action introduced to Jira Cloud to Create a Confluence page. This is handy to create new Confluence pages from Jira, or to create multiple pages by referencing a template. However, when a Confluence page is created, it isn't automatically linked to the Jira issue used to create the page.

Suggested Resolution

Provide the ability to automatically create a remotelink between the Jira issue used to create the Confluence page, and the Confluence page that was created, similar to the below example:

Also, possibly returning the page id along with the URL would be helpful as well.

Related suggestions

• I want to be able to automatically link a confluence page on issue creation, however the "Edit Field" - "Linked Issue" action only allows to link a Jira issue in the automation rules as of now. I would love if you added a way to link a Confluence page here like you do in the normal issue edit screens.
• Automation Ability to create confluence child pages under the parent page via smart values - At the moment we can create child pages by selecting the Parent page manually.

Requirements:

• • When issue is created
  • If issue type is Task - Create a Parent Confluence page
  • If Subtask created - Create a Child Confluence page under the Task's Parent Confluence page
• To have a smart value that would display the content after the Create Confluence Page automation is used. This would be great to link the page to trigger an issue, for instance, and would help to reduce the risk of additional complexity of making follow-up API calls to Confluence as well.
