Currently, when you get the Jira Cloud add-on for Excel, however, once the panel that's pops-up on excel shows up, there's no way to keep that closed until you decide to open it again.

Instead, you have the option to close it for that session, but it keeps opening every-time the excel workbook is opened.

[API-550] Close Jira Cloud Panel in Excel

This is happening for me and several members of my team.  The workaround suggested by Benjamin Kiene only works for the session, the panel comes back after closing and reopening Excel.

This is happening in both the Windows Desktop app, and in Excel for cloud.

The workaround mentioned above doesn’t work on Excel for Mac, as there is available functionality to inspect the document. The only resolution seems to be saving the file as .xls, then back as .xlsx, although you can break functionality which is not compatible with that format.

There is a workaround. I tried it and it works every single time! "This is what to do:

With the problem file open in Excel click 'File' and then 'Info'.

Click 'Check for Issues' and then 'Inspect Document'.

            Run the 'Inspect' option.

It should report there are 'Task Pane Add ins' and offer to remove them.

            'Remove All' and then close.

Go back to the document, Save and test it."
