Slack for Confluence needs to have the ability to create notifications in Slack when a user mention is created in Confluence, regardless of whether it is within a page or comment.

[API-162] Slack for Confluence user mention notifications

+1 for Data Center. This does nothing to support enterprise customers on Data Center.

Is there any intention in making this available for Confluence Data Center? We're a Data Center shop and I think we could benefit from this integration, so I was curious where this might be in your roadmap, if at all.

Marking this as completed as we have built the functionality

Hi y'all, David from the product team again. Thanks for all who gave us more feedback. I'm excited to announce that you can now get all of your Confluence notifications in Slack instead of email or going into Confluence itself! Here's how to get started:

            1. Install the Confluence Cloud Slack app onto your Slack workspace
            2. Type in "/confluence notify" anywhere in Slack
            3. Choose the kinds of notifications you want (Slack is noisier so we're giving users power to filter only what they want! E.g. mentions only, comments only, or many other combinations).
            4. Boom! You'll start getting your notifications as DM's from the Confluence app in Slack (where you're already working)

This is a basic functionality request to make Confluence more on par with Google docs for collaboration. Please do this soon, without notifications comments in Confluence are not an effective tool for our team.

Another bump for Data Center, this just came up in our Atlassian requests meeting.

This feature would be really neat! Additionally, this ticket appears to only be for Confluence Cloud, and I think Confluence Data Center users could benefit from this feature, as well.

            Very interested in that feature

The slack integration is useless without this option. Who wants to get notified on every comment or need to manually subscribe to each new page created where they are involved?

Confluence is helping us move away from email, but we can't do that without having confluence integration with Slack to notify users that a user has been mentioned.

The problem with notifications inside Confluence is that its not a tool that is open throughout the entire day. Notifications might only be checked once a week and I would miss out on docs that need my attention (I miss out on reading the mention). However if this is linked with slack, then I can see it on my slack message on both desktop and mobile when I'm on the go.

Happy for you to reach out to me to understand my use case further, can help with any testing efforts too.

This makes a lot of sense to include. My Org's space is massive and I really only need to know when a user mentions me. I can get an email notification about this but slack would be far more convenient.

Looks like there's an existing thread in the community where people are looking for this specific functionality but people haven't voted.  Definitely need this functionality beyond @ mentions in comments on pages.  Fingers crossed....
