Issue Summary
Currently, a generic error message is thrown when Atlassian Intelligence fails to provide a response:
"Atlassian Intelligence (AI) isn't responding. Try again later."
Steps to Reproduce
- Create an issue with limited/vague information in the description field.
E.g.
I need to manage my team’ tasks so that I can divide the workload equally.
- Click "Create Subtasks" and then "Suggest subtasks"
Since Atlassian Intelligence does not have enough sufficient context in the parent issue (description field), AI fails to provide a suitable response (In this case, suitable subtasks)
Expected Results
A detailed error message is thrown letting the user know the reason for the failure to generate a response by Atlassian AI.
Actual Results
A generic error message is thrown:
"Atlassian Intelligence (AI) isn't responding. Try again later."
Workaround
Above generic error message is thrown in the following cases:
- There isn’t sufficient context in the parent issue
- The AI model feels the content or the prompt is inappropriate or poses a security risk
- The prompt is unclear
- the AI model is out of new issue suggestions
Improve the description/prompt to overcome the applicable error conditions.
To overcome the above use case, add additional context in the description field.
For example, Following description generates response from Atlassian AI:
I need to manage my team’ tasks so that I can divide the workload equally.
- Create a schedule
- Provide deadline.
