Improve notification email to end users when domain is verified and accounts become managed

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      Problem Definition

When a domain is claimed, we send an email out to the Organization Admin:

      Hi <End User>,

We're writing to let you know that your Atlassian account is now being managed by your Atlassian Cloud administrator.

This won't change the way you log in to Atlassian products or how you use them.
However, from now on if you want to update your email address, you'll need to contact your Atlassian Cloud administrator.

Important details are omitted such as:

      1. The atlassian cloud administrator
      2. The atlassian cloud url
      3. For IDP initiated SAML, the SSO admin (as it would directly impact the way users login)

      Suggested Solution

Include more details in the notifications so there is less ambiguity in terms of why the information is necessary for the receiver

We no longer send this email and instead notify users in-product.

Hi bram.devreese, on May 6th we moved our notification for claiming a domain (and managing accounts on that domain) to an in-product experience for users. This means that users will no longer receive emails for the domain claim, though at the moment that is the only email that's no longer being sent. Feel free to raise a ticket or send in feedback on broadly adding the ability to excise email notices in general, if there isn't such a ticket already.

Our documentation details the updated domain claim experience: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/verify-a-domain-to-manage-accounts.

I need a solution to supress the emails when a domain is claimed. I don't want my users to receive emails.

Can this be implemented and set as an extra checkbox in the interface?

As mentioned above: i also don't want users to receive emails when changes are made in the Atlassian access config.

Notification is also sent to active users when security configuration is changed on Atlassian Access.

The problem is that the administrator is not even notified that the change could trigger these bulk notifications e.g. enforcing/disabling 2FA under the security configuration.

As an "enterprise-wide solution for enhanced security and centralized administration", please make sure the notification mechanism is enterprise-ready.
