NullPointerException when viewing a calendar while not being signed in

When a user is viewing an embedded calendar in 1.2.0, an exception will occur when attempting to retrieve the subcalendar JSON-feed, causing the events to not display (returns a 500 status). The issue will not occur while being signed in (since the problem seems to be a null user lookup).

Issue did not occur in 1.1.0 (to which we have downgraded now for the time being).
