    Description

      Hello people,

      I am trying to upgrade to JIRA 4.4.x Early Access. So I need to migrate everything from 4.2.4-b591 to the latest version. I have started with my custom authenticator. My custom authenticator extends DefaultAuthenticator and overrides the two extra methods getUser(String username) and authenticate(Principal user, String password). I also define the entry point of my authentication in the seraph-config.xml file

      <authenticator class="com.mycompany.epix.seraph.MyCompanyAuthenticator"/>

      However, when I start Jira I get a bunch of exceptions:

      ... 20 more

      In addition, if I switch back to <authenticator class="com.atlassian.jira.security.login.JiraSeraphAuthenticator"/> then everything is fine, but jira will authenticate against the internal list of users and not against an external directory.

      Does anyone have any idea what I am missing/doing wrong?

      Thank you very much in advance!
