      NOTE: This suggestion is for JIRA Cloud. Using JIRA Server? See the corresponding suggestion.

      We'd like to have a facility to upload Priority and Issue Type icons to JIRA, where they would be stored with the other Avatars, on the JIRA Home folder structure. This would allow custom icons to be persisted without the need to have an open project inside your instance.

      Here's the doc we have currently about this issue:

      Workaround

      1) Create a dummy Issue Type and upload your desired Priority icon there, following the instructions in this article: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/how-to-change-the-icon-for-issue-types-1209871380.html

      Copy the URL of the icon that is associated with the Issue Type and use it for the Priority

      2) There are additional icons built into Jira that you can use for priority icons. You can use the below image URLs for these icons and select one of these if that matches the priority you are trying to create/use. Just enter the URL below in the image URL in the Issue priorities screen -
