I just had a support customer who could not work out from our documentation how to increase perm gen space on Linux. We have had a few similar cases recently.
This is the page: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Increasing+JIRA+memory.
We need specific instructions on what exactly to do for perm gen. The current page is not specific enough. It assumes you have read through everything above and can then adapt what you have learnt for setting perm gen, which is asking a lot of customers. Also, if for example you are on Linux, most of the above doco you wade through is not relevant.
I think it could use a bit of a restructure and then more specific instructions.
Also it doesn't currently say where in setenv.sh or setenv.bat to add the line. It needs to.
