In particular, I'd like to have the capability to specify the ORDER in which "non-default" fields are displayed on the View Issue Screen. For example, I have a custom field called "Detailed Analysis" which is a multi-line text field. I'd like for it to be displayed "after" the description. Currently, the customized View Issue screen displays all additional fields BEFORE the description.
I've created a screen which has a couple of different tabs to de-clutter the users' experience.
However the tabs only seem to present when the screen is displayed as a form (ie: creating an issue, editing it), but when just viewing the issue, the tabs are not presented. Is this by design, is it a glitch, something I'm doing wrong, or is it something I should be asking for as part of this issue? It's actually on the VIEW screen that I reckon these things would be more useful, as that's what most people are looking at most of the time;it's only a subset of users who are viewing an issue in "edit mode". Cheers. Hi Adam,
On the View Issue page, the tabs of teh screen are only respected for showing custom fields. The other fields are displayed in the same place they always are. The reason for this is that the View Issue screen does not really follow a tabular layout for other fields than the custom fields. Cheers,
Sure. What I'm suggesting is that perhaps it should. If one defines a layout for a screen, then that layout ought to be respected for both flavours of that screen (display and data-entry both). It seems like the screen thing has only been half implemented, as it is. Cheers. |
