Currently there are problems that people have when using the standalone that are possible to detect ahead of time:

(a) Detect if something is using the web port '8080', and prevent the server from starting, and print out an error message
(b) fix up the logging from Tomcat - the screen should say 'starting', and then only the logs that are necessary should be printed out
(c) Detect JDK requirements - if we need the JDK, check that they aren't using the JRE instead [edit: we don't require JDK now]
(d) JAVA_HOME not pointing correctly. Whilst I think that the Tomcat script currently does this - we can improve the error messages
(e) Create a link to our support page for installing, should they have any problems
