When doing an export to excel, the Issue Links column only displays HREF's for single links.

e.g.
JRA-6070 will render properly (the appropriate link to the issue is added)

JRA-6070, JRA-6070, JRA-6070 will not (no links)

Sorry, this one isn't in the right component, and I'm referring to the IssueNavigator.jsp page.

Nick Menere [Atlassian] - 13/Jul/05 07:29 PM
Thanks for reporting Jay.

As far as I can tell this seems to be an excel issue. When I save the file to disk and look for the keys they are enclosed in an href. If I open the file in excel I do not see the links and if I save the file from excel it saves the field value as only the key text. If I open this .xls file in open office then it renders the html correctly. I have tried to find some information about this on the web, but have not found anything as of yet. I will keep looking and if we can find a workaround we will include the fix in a future version of Jira. Sorry I don't have a workaround on offer at the moment.

Cheers,
Nick

Not a problem at all! I will let you know if I come up with anything.

I create .xls files by forcing an attachment, type application/ms-excel named whatever.xls and just write html to it and let excel sort it out. Are you doing it the same way?

Jay Proulx - 13/Jul/05 08:22 PM
Ahh, I see what you mean. Just to test I created 2 links in Word and pasted them into excel, but no link showed up. Copying 1 link and pasting it into excel preserved the link.

I would have to assume that Excel links the cell and not the content. I'll keep my eyes open for you.

Cheers Jay.

As this is a problem with Excel, I'm closing this issue.
