Mattias V. Bertelsen - 20/Sep/02 03:43 AM
I would like to see dates associated with versions on the road map, since the road map is one of the primary tools we will use to communicate with the stakeholders.
I really like Mattias' idea for version dates. Our proj mgrs currently maintain a separate spreadsheet that lists dates versions were released. (ack)
This also relates to Greg's recent JRA-2182 - e-mailing developers overdue issues via subscriptions. I'd like to create a filter to e-mail developers a list of issues coming due for an impending release. The are lots of updates to Version and Components that can be included in one go.
We can now add descriptions to versions, but they are not displayed anywhere other than the admin pages. Would be nice to see the descriptions displayed in the Road Map page. We have projects that follow a defined versioning scheme, but sometimes it is helpful to be able to say "FooFoo v9.1 is intended for the FeeFee IFR release", FeeFee IFR being a description applied to a bundle of products. (names have been changed to protect...me!)
Kevin,
For adding descriptions to the roadmap, see We would need the description in the road map too. Better would be custom fields with dates like planning deadline, prerelease date, live date, which should then also be shown in the road map and the release notes. This refers to JRA-2980 (Custom fields all JIRA objects)
Changed the description of the issue to better reflect its purpose. A new issue has been created to track adding descriptions of versions onto the roadmap.
Project components now have Descriptions. These are displayed in various alt / title tags throughth the system.
