Need to allow to retrieve the list of available actions, then the list of fields that can be updated for a speicific workflow action, and then allow to do the transition.

This just missed 3.3 build! However, it should be part of 3.3.1 and you will be able to download it from the RPC page http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAEXT/JIRA+RPC+plugin as version 3.3-2
