 Description  « Hide
If you define multiple dashboards, basing each one on the default dashboard, they don't inherit later changes made to the default dashboard. This is fine if you want something totally different to the standard dashboard, but if you want to just extend the default for yourself, you need to redo it every time the default dashboard changes.

Adding support for extending the default dashboard might be quite complex.

If we allow users to add the default dashboard as one of the dahsboards will this satisfy your requirement?

Thanks,
Anton

Yes, this would satisfy our requirements nicely, thank you. Is it likely that
this change will be done?

Thanks,
Mark.

Mark,

It is difficult for me to provide an accurate estimate as to when this will be implemented. We try to implement popular issues first:
http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA?report=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project:popularissues-panel

As this issue is not at the top of the popular issues list it may be some time until we can get to it.

Please note that all commercial JIRA customers receive full access to JIRAs source code, so if you have the right resources in-house you can have a look at extending JIRA.

Thanks,
Anton

I would like our users to be able to keep the default dashboard as one of their dashboard pages. I would also like to see an admin option that disables the ability of a user to remove the default dashboard as one of their dashboard pages. There may well be processes that require use of the portlets on the default dashboard, and these may be reconfigured from time to time e.g. as versions release and new projects come along or plugins are installed. The fact that users lose easy access to further changes in the default dashboard once they begin to customize their own dashboard pages is a bug in my opinion.

Regards,
Steve

I would also like for users to have the most current version of the 'default' dashboard along with their own dashboards. Currently, the only way to get the most recent 'default' is to use the 'Restore Defaults' option which destroys all the other dashboards. Is there a way quick workaround? Can the file ~/atlassian-jira/includes/panels/user_summary_pane.jsp be modified to support this?

Thanks,
Stephen T
