Now that all system fields have been turned into field objects, it would be useful to turn some of the other functions into 'fields' so that they can be performed as part of other pages.

Some operations have a very logical mapping to fields (same UI - eg link issue) - whilst others may have a different UI (eg - vote).

This would be very useful for people who want to link and log work when they resolve an issue.

This would be extremely useful for myself and many others who need to make the 'Work On Issue' field required for some screens.
I know that this is scheduled for 3.7 but any ideas on the date of this release or if it is going to make it in at all?

Any chances this will become a part of 3.8? Or 3.9?
