Can I record the current user for each update that is done on a Jira item?
This would basically sove partially the issues of those looking for the history of work per user.
See JRA-5536, JRA-5470.

I'd like to define a custom field that will be automatically updated upon each chnage with the previous value concatenated with the "Current User"

I believe we're working on something similar. Is this custom field that will have a list of "participants" of the issue?

This is being implemented as a custom field.

Thanks,
Is this entered here? I searched for it but did not found it.

No I don't think it's logged as an issue, it's something we've worked on in house an will probably be released as part of the JIRA Toolkit.

We'll update this issue when it's available

Should be available for use with JIRA Toolkit 0.5, which will be released when JIRA 3.3 comes out. You'll be able to download it from http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAEXT/JIRA+Toolkit

Just some more info, this field will track all users who have commented on the issue, the current assignee and the current reporter. The idea is that when you "participated" in an issue you'd comment on it.
