It would be great to add a worklog report by user and/or by project. Right now, there's no search filter to do this. For example in time and date search category, add something like "Work logged in previous" "Work logged after", Work logged before"

Also, a Excel report such as suggested in http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-1781 could be interesting to.

Can you give some more information about this? Have you looked at the time tracking reports under 'Browse Project'?

I'll give more information.
What I propose is to track worked log in time. For example, I want to know what a X developper logs as work in the last week. This developper also may work in different projects. This could be usefull for time sheet generation and for the project manager to know who has work on what.

The time tracking reports give a snapshot of the project, but not the information that I'm seeking for.

I have exactly the same need for creating work log reports.

I would like to have a search filter like "Work logged before" and "Work logged after" and as a result get a report with all entries in the log including the timestamps of each entry. The result would be much like in the example presented in http://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-1781.

This is an important requirement for us as we need to be able to report to our customer the tasks that have been worked on during each day and how much time was spent on them each day.

Are there any plans to extend work log reporting functionality in the upcoming releases?

Hi,
There has been some work done in reporting to make pretty graphs and the like but we can not guarantee that it will make it into 3.4. There is a lot of work still to be done and if not done right will cause a lot more problems than it solves. We will try and keep you updated on this issue.

Hi Neil,

I personally do not want to use the Kamelot plugin because it gives a lot more configuration work. As a workaround I connect myself directly towards the database and query for the information I need. This is certainly not an option for everybody of course.

In de last version of jira the worklogs are stored in a seperate table which is already a big improvement.
