I would love to see something like this. What I really need is a 'who is currrently online' feature. When I need to take the server down, or upgrade JIRA, I would like to know if anyone is currently on the system. Something similar to phpbb and the like would be perfect.
I'd also like to see this functionality in the Admin feature set somewhere. Even as we speak I am in the process of having to do some updates and would like to know if anyone is on before I make the change.
It would be very handy.
For now, you can get some idea of current users by setting the AccessLogFilter log level to INFO in Admin -> System -> Logging and Profiling. You'll then see which users are doing what in the logs. Also, in 3.4 there will be an announcement banner, so you can tell anyone online about some impending change. I also want to vote for this feature.
It would be very nice to see the actual logged users so I know how many usr are using Jira and after that I can do updae of jira or send the emails to the users. But also there would be nice to know the statistics of users. So I will know how many users were using Jira yesterday or last month. If there will be this function I think then it will be very simple to use for example service or plugin that will count the number of actual logged users and create the table or create a statistics for every day. This would be very handy because the management want to know. How man users use Jira? Do we still need some support? ... Thank you. I also need this feature for maintenance. The annoncement banner is a good thing, but users tend to sorta overlook it. I need a way to know if someone else is logged in (and ideally who that is).
We are an international company and I got users from the US, Germany and China. So most of the time there´s always someone working, which makes it even harder to schedule maintenance work. |
