Currently when you copy/clone an issue the only field which can be modified is the 'Summary' field. If you wish to modify other fields you have to edit the new issue after the copy and this produces additional notifications.

It would be nice to be able to specify system/custom fields to modify when copying the issue as you can when moving an issue. This would speed up the copy process and reduce 'noise' notifications.

Yes that would be nice to be able to set fields in the clone process.

Rather than specify which fields to modify - why not just go to the edit-issue page so the user can modify whatever they want before they save it..

I think this is a major issue for would-be cloners. We need to have 3 buttons:
Create/Submit, Create/Edit, and Cancel.
Create/Submit does what Create does now - creates an issue.
Create/Edit does what Nick suggests - takes you to a screen as if you had just created an issue and filled out the issue type and project.

BAsically JRA-9071 duplicates. In this case, the wizard ought to offer the ability to update a few more of the issue fields during the copy process (ditto for Move BTW).
