The Configure your Issue Navigator option on every filter takes a very long time to open the screen the first time any user hits the page per user session.

reproduce:
So user a tries to configure their issue navigator.
System spends 5+ minutes opening screen.
User configures their issue navigator and goes back to filter.
User then manages filters and adds a column order.
Issue Navigator column config screen appears instantly.
User then logs out.
User logs back in, views same filter, clicks 'Configure your Issue Navigator' and has same 5+ minute wait.
...

I believe that the problem is that the default behavior for the 'Configure your Issue Navigator' is to first select on all issues in the system, then to present the user with the last 5 issues or so of the select on the configure screen. It would be very nice if this default behavior were changed, if this is infact the problem.

It sounds like a similar problem to JRA-5166 (configuring issue navigator slow). How many issues do you have? If there are not many then doing any sort of search shouldn't slow things down too much.

We have hte same problem. The size of the query doesn't appear to be a factor. In our system we are running dual opterons with 4Gb or RAM and yet this 'feature' is very slow. We currently have close to 20k issues logged in jira.

The 3.0.3 release includes a fix aimed at improving performance in this area.

Can you try testing with 3.0.3 and let us know if you still encounter problems.

Thanks,
Keith

Works great now with 3.0.3 deployed. Thanks!

This seems to have been fixed? In any case, there'll big speed improvements in 3.2's issue navigator in general
