Various people wish to know how to extend JIRA by overriding pico-managed components. In early 3.0 versions this could be done by writing a custom Pico ContainerProvider, but apparently this doesn't work in 3.0 beta, and anyway the proper way to do this is by writing a plugin. We should document how to do this.
