We sometimes dont want our customers to see who is actually working on what item, as some bad customers then tend to talk directly to the developers (which is in many cases not very good) and overgo the project lead, which he is supposed to talk to.

What i would propose is a new permission in the permission sheme, called "Sees Assignee".

As an alternative you could couple this permission together with the permission to assign someone.

I agree with Erika.

Hi! I am evaluating JIRA for my company to use as an issue tracker. It almost fits perfectly.
We are also planning to use JIRA as a combined bug tracker and also open for our customers. We do not want to display who's working on what, for the same reason as Gerd is describing.

It is possible to set the "assignable users" in the permission scheme, it would be nice if this also applied to what users are allowed to see the assignee.

This is another feature that is important to using JIRA as a public helpdesk application.

Ghislain Devouthon - 20/Nov/06 11:45 AM
Is there any hope to have this kind of functionnality ?

I think that displaying every information of a company including company is an anglo-saxon way of thinking.

I'm not really sure that european companies would love it.

This is another case of field level security. Resolving as a duplicate.
