A number of people experience problems when configuring OSUser's LDAPCredentialsProvider, to check users' passwords against LDAP. There are many ways this can go wrong, and there is very little feedback when things go wrong.

To solve this, we could have a page inside JIRA which prompts the admin to enter the relevant LDAP configuration details, emulates an LDAP authentication, and if everything works, generates a correct osuser.xml.
