my wish would be this "when you choose "Project" at the first page.. you'll get up another page showing "sub-projects..# and you can then go to third page to see the output "issues" of both Main project and from Sub Projects Uses the filters to see either "Sub Projects output" or all diversion@volvo.se put this request...

Done in 0.7.8 with the project browser - let me know (here if you like) what you think of it, and whether it solves your problem.

Sub projects should share release versions, permissions etc.

Searchs on a parent project would then be able to unify or the bugs to be fixed before the main project was OK to release.
Currently you can not do this in Jira2.

Compoents are not as flexiable as a full blown sub-project because subprojects involve different people (ie permissions) and administrators.
