I'm in the progress of evaluating JIRA.

During this I found it quite cumbersome to create a new group (e.g.
"customers") and add multiple users to this group. I had to go to each
user and add him...very cumbersome for more than a few users ;(

Would be great with something like a "bulk/quick-assoicate users" feature.

This feature is pretty fundamental to every kind of system with user/group administration. I was wondering too, why this isn't implemented, cause it would make life a lot easier.

Are there any plans to implement this feature?

Any plans yet to see this in an upcoming release?

We have about one hundred of users and one hundred of groups with the Enterprise Edition and need to do multiple assignements.

This issue is opened about 2 years and not assigned yet.

Do you think to do that once ?

Thanks

'm sorry to say this, but we were waiting so long for this improvement, so we decided to do this ourselves. In the attached screenshot you can see the screen of our user managagement console plugin, which has the simplest and most intuitive interface for this particular activity.

We'll, try getting this done.

Michal,

May I ask if the All groups select box allows to select more than one group at the same time? And if so what do the other boxes display when more than one group is selected?

Thanks,
Anton

This is not allowed. The principle behind was:
  • select the group
  • maneuver this group membership using two lists on the right of the group's list.

If you have better UI for multi-group assignment, I would love to see it in JIRA.
The proposal could be:

  • select multiple groups
  • in the 'assigned' list will be people assigned to ALL of selected groups
  • the third list will list the remaining people

This can be really handy. Think about it.

Thanks for the suggestion. We will go with it.

We will replace the list of Unassigned users with a 'user picker', as if there are a lot of users (e.g. 10,000) the simple list can be messy.
