RSS feeds are already available as the results of a filter search in jira, which works very nice for linking with aggregation tools. It would also be cool if comments for an issue could be read as an RSS feed, as a means of monitoring the issue instead of subscribing/watching.

Linking somewhat related issues. Could the output required for RSS (JRA-2033) be expressed as a filter result (JRA-2734)?

Mark,

I'm going to implement this as a different RSS feed from the issue navigator, where you can take any filter, and then get an RSS feed of comments from that feed.

Would that work for you? I have this partially implemented in JIRA 3.7.

An RSS feed has been added to the issue navigator that will show a 'feed of comments' for a given search request's returned issues.

That's cool!
Can't wait for 3.7!!

I just realised that our feature didn't address the exact feature.

You can subscribe to a search result's comments in the issue navigator, but we don't have the ability to subscribe to an individual issue's changelog.

I'll leave this open until we have that feature.
