iGoogle gives message "Not Found" when you try to add a JIRA gadget to iGoogle

When you paste a JIRA gadget's URL into the iGoogle textbox for adding a gadget, iGoogle returns a message "Not Found". See attached screenshot.

This is probably caused by the issue with inline message bundles. See JRA-19890. I'm adding this issue because it describes the symptom experienced by customers, and the cause is not yet fully determined.

Looks like someone beat you Atlassian:

            Still nothing? Bummer.

I try to include the "Filter result" gadget to an iGoogle page.
After some modification of the XML source file, I can notice that some specific feature are not managed by google : (I use a Google Dev account to host the modified xml file)

            • I remove the tag <messagebundle>
            • I remove the datatype="hidden" param to be able to modify setting
            • I remove quite all "Localised message" (keep only Default, English, and French) : the size or some characters seems to be an problem

At this point you can include the Gadget in google
I thinks lots of other feature didn't work due to authentication :

            • retrieving data and display the dropdown lists
            • validating the filter
            • ...

this is the code of the modified XML Gadget.

Just encountered this issue. It worked for me with an http instance (jira.atlassian.com), but not with an https one (internal JIRA). Not sure if that helps...

Agree with Martin. Any thoughts on this would be fixed? Did it ever actually work?

This issue has been open for almost a year now and no real progress. It sounded like a nice feature to use these gadgets on other places, but I guess that will never start working?

Just some user feedback, the whole upside of having Gadgets, is that we can use those on other places as well. That it works internally within the Atlassian products is of course great, but the real plus is when I can create one dashboard that has all my stuff...

Just a thought, but why doesn't this work? There is also a Jira Studio integration with Google Apps, that surely has gadgets that work together I hope?

More grist, it doesn't appear that Gmail gadget container works with Atlassian gadgets, either.
            Documentation http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/GADGETS/Adding+an+Atlassian+Gadget+to+iGoogle+and+Other+Web+Sites#AddinganAtlassianGadgettoiGoogleandOtherWebSites-limitations says:
"Gmail and other Google-owned containers do still work with Atlassian gadgets."
I just tried this using gmail's Settings>Gadgets tab. I added the Atlassian gadget URL: http://sandbox.onjira.com/rest/gadgets/1.0/g/com.atlassian.jira.gadgets:introduction-gadget/gadgets/introduction-gadget.xml and Google's app posted an error: "Invalid gadget specification. Ensure URL is correct and the gadget does not contain errors."

It seems like that JIRA is running on port 8080 with a redirect from port 80. The URL for igoogle would have to include the port 8080.
