We'll try to at this option in JIRA 2.3
This would be really nice.
There is no way to schedule what time of day the backup of the xml file occurs (only the interval in minutes) so when one is using the OS to schedule the backup of the attachments, say every night at 2am, the momement when the two backups are taken can be hours apart. To Vince Caserta:
Take a look at the issue reported just prior to this one: JRA-1865 about using specific time instead of delay in services. /watson What is the state of this very old issue? I am astonished that this is implemented in Confluence but not in JIRA...
Very annoying issue. Why can't you guys do what confluence does? Their backup/restore is very nice
I just looked at my JIRA backup directory and realised that the zip files were far too small. Amazingly it was because the attachments aren't backed up! I really don't understand why such basic functionality (i.e. being able to do complete backups) is missing, especially as it's implemented in Confluence.
Is there any chance of this ever getting added? It's been over four years since this issue was opened! And why is this prioritised as "minor"? Properly backing up data is far more important than that. Agreed, this is more than a minor issue and I have bumped up the priority.
As you know, we have a lot of open feature requests We have increased the warnings, both in the documentation and JIRA itself, so hopefully Admins wont be caught out by this. Cheers, |
