We should put more descriptive information for the Project Key input field on the Add Project page.

The description should mention that the key:

describes the project
is shown to users who do not have permission to see the project
used for each issue in the project and therefore should be easy to type (maybe not too long)
cannot be changed once the project exists

We will also need to update the JIRA doc.
